Mysteries/Thrillers
My nana used to be a big fan of mysteries and thrillers, and when I began my career in publishing would always ask me to get her copies of the latest by her favorites. I never really read one, let alone copyedited one, until after she was gone, thinking somehow it wouldn't jibe with my preference for literary fiction. But now they're my not-so-guilty pleasure. There are some real gems out there, and it's not the case that literary fiction and mystery/thriller are mutually exclusive categories.
I have a great respect for the authors who work in this area, as there are so many moving parts to keep track of. If ever they drop a ball, I'm there to pick it up.
